WBR Group, the UK’s largest independent provider of SSAS administration and integrated professional services, is pleased to announce the appointment of two highly experienced trustee consultants, Roger Howman and Jason Wood, to further strengthen its dedicated Trustee Consultancy Team.
The appointments come at a time of growing scrutiny for SSASs from the Pensions Regulator and HMRC, with member trustees under increasing pressure to fully understand their roles and responsibilities. WBR Group’s Trustee Consultancy service is designed to bridge this knowledge gap, offering hands-on, specialist support that few other SSAS providers currently offer, helping business owners use the tools available to them with precision; to protect value, unlock opportunity and create structures that support growth, succession and independence over time.
Roger Howman joins WBR Group with over 30 years’ experience in the SSAS and SIPP sector. He has previously held director positions with Lindley Trustees Limited and IFG Pensions Limited, and most recently worked as a technical manager with SSAS Reviews Limited.
Jason Wood also brings over 30 years’ pensions experience to the role, having previously worked as a SSAS and SIPP consultant. He spent more than seven years as a pensions technical specialist with Interactive Investor before joining WBR Group.
Together, Roger and Jason bring a wealth of experience to WBR Group, providing full support to advisers and SSAS clients as pension legislation continues to evolve, including the introduction of Inheritance Tax charges in respect of unused pension pots.
Martin Tilley, COO of WBR Group said: “We are delighted to welcome Roger and Jason to WBR Group. We believe that the Trustee Consultancy role is a vital part of our comprehensive service protecting our clients and advisers and providing the critical connection between the client and our administration services. Roger and Jason have demonstrated the experience necessary to understand client needs and communicate, sometimes complex legislative changes, in a clear and expert manner.
Their wealth of knowledge in the SSAS sector, along with their wider business acumen, makes them both an excellent addition to our Trustee Consultancy Team.”
